Hello SF! I have an urgent question regarding the transition to Lightning. We are about to start our pilot but there is one question which we would like to have verified. Our sales cloud platform consists of sales users (accounts, opportunities etc.) and users who rely on the Connexys app, which is not Lightning Ready. For us, it would be that the sales users are going over to Lightning and the "Connexys users" are staying on Classic.

My question is: Would it have impact for the Connexys users if we enable Lightning for the organization (and not make them Lightning users obviously)? Will hitting the button do something with the core of the platform that will affect the functionality and way of working for the Classic users, who are using an app that is not Lightning Ready?

Our worst nightmare would be that we have a satisfied sales team using Lightning and Classic users that cannot do their job properly anymore...

Hope to hear from you soon, thank you kindly in advance.

Best regards,

Jos

Lots of great advice here, @Jos Dofferhoff

. Enabling Lightning Experience in your sandbox org is a great way to see what your users will experience. After testing things out, you may discover that your Connexys users will get enough productivity gains from working in Lightning Experience, that it makes sense to enable it for them too and have them switch back to Salesforce Classic when they need to use the Connexys app.

And to answer your original question, enabling Lightning Experience doesn't affect your org, apps, or users in Classic in any way. Classic will continue to function exactly as it does now.
