Customize Product Discovery

Learning Objectives

After completing this unit, you’ll be able to:

  • Describe the importance of customizing Product Discovery.
  • Customize Product Discovery components.

Customize the Product Browsing Experience

After you index your product catalog and make it searchable, the next step is to make product exploration easy and engaging. Product Discovery in Agentforce Revenue Management provides the product list page where you can view the products, select the required ones, configure them, and then add them to a quote. Use Revenue Management to customize the product list page to:

  • Tailor the user interface by:
    • Enabling or disabling the preview
    • Hiding prices
    • Enabling selection of a list view and a tile view
  • Control how customers interact with the products by:
    • Enabling or disabling product configuration
    • Enabling or disabling quantity selection
    • Defining whether to run qualification rules

In addition, your users can create their own custom action buttons and define specific functionality for them.

To help you to customize the product list page, Agentforce Revenue Management provides the Discover Products flow that you can extend and configure as required.

Take a look at this InifinitraBytes product list page.

The Product listing page with no customizations.

Currently, the page comes with a preview link (1) that gets updated as the customer clicks Add against a product, and the default product view as list (2).

Manoj wants to customize the product list page to disable the preview link, and select the product view as tile or list. Follow along to make these customizations.

Create a Custom Discover Products Flow

The Discover Products flow adds products from the selected catalog and uses context definitions and qualification rules to determine the products to be displayed in the product list page. Manoj plans to create a custom flow based on this and configure it to customize the product list page. Follow along in your Developer Edition org.

  1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, find and select Flows.
  2. From the available flows, select Discover Products to launch it in the Flow Builder.
  3. Click Save as New Flow and enter these details.
    • Flow Label: Custom Product Discovery Flow
    • Flow API Name is auto-populated.
  4. Save your changes.
  5. The Flow Builder page opens.
  6. Scroll and click Product List to open it in the edit mode. The Flow Builder page with the Product list element highlighted.
  7. Click Product List Page Container. The associated properties open in the side panel.
  8. In the Properties panel, enter these details.

The Product list element with customized values.
  9. Click Done to close the edit mode.
  10. Click Save and then Activate.

You have now customized the default Discover Products flow and enabled the necessary settings for the intended customizations.

Next, Manoj takes a look at how these customizations appear when he’s browsing for products in the catalog. Follow along.

  1. From the App Launcher, find and select Quotes.
  2. Open any existing quote and click Browse Catalogs.
  3. Select Hardware Catalog and click Next.
  4. Observe that the preview icon no longer appears in the product list page. Also, you now have the option to change the view to List View or Tile View.
