Meet the Grantmaking Site Template
Learning Objectives
After completing this unit, you’ll be able to:
- Describe Experience Cloud and how it works with Grantmaking.
- Describe the features of the Grantmaking site template.
Streamline Work with Applicants and Grantees
Grantmaking for Public Sector Solutions and Nonprofit Cloud is a Salesforce solution for foundations, nonprofits, government agencies, and other organizations that provide grants, scholarships, and other purpose-driven funding.
It’s an end-to-end grantmaking solution designed to drive efficiency, invest in better outcomes, and create positive experiences for grantees. In this module, find out how you can use Grantmaking to streamline communication and improve collaboration with applicants and grantees.
Understand Experience Cloud and the Grantmaking Site Template
Experience Cloud is a way to create beautifully branded digital experiences that are connected directly to Salesforce. It helps you create sites, online communities, help forums, and other online experiences to engage your stakeholders. And because your Experience Cloud sites are directly connected to Salesforce, you can use the Salesforce built-in user management tools to choose who can access your site and what content and data they can view.
Grantmaking gives you an Experience Cloud site template to help you get started on your own site. The template provides a framework to share information about your organization, list your funding opportunities, solicit funding applications, and collaborate on grants and post-award work. There are many options to customize the template to match your branding and processes. But you can choose not to use the template if you want something completely custom.
Explore the Grantmaking Site Template
Let’s explore the basic features and tools included in the template.
By default, the template includes:
- A header with navigation and a space for your organization’s logo.
- A customizable home page with a large hero image and space to promote your organization’s mission.
- Pages to list key records in the grantmaking lifecycle, like funding opportunities, individual applications, and awards.
- Page components to collect multi-stage applications, progress reports, and reviewer feedback.
- A tool to submit proposed budgets using budget templates that you specify.
- Login, registration, and user profile pages to help your users manage their own accounts and details.
Want to Get Hands-on with Grantmaking?
We don’t have any hands-on challenges in this module, but if you want to try out the Grantmaking site template, you can register for a free Nonprofit Cloud and Grantmaking trial with sample data. A Trailhead Playground doesn’t have Grantmaking. Here’s how to get the free trial edition now.
- Sign up for a free 30-day Nonprofit Cloud and Grantmaking trial.
- Fill out the form completely.
- After you fill out the form, click Submit. A confirmation message appears.
- When you receive the activation email (this might take a few minutes), open it and click Verify Account.
- Complete your registration by setting your password and challenge question. Tip: Write down your username, password, and login URL for easy access later.
After you sign up for the trial org and log in, you’ll find the grantmaking site template in the Digital Experiences app.
While the template gives you a starting point, there are many ways you can customize it. In the next unit, find out the key decisions you must take while setting up your Experience Cloud site.
