Newby needs to ask a lot of questions

Im new to trailblazeres and a complete newby and know nothing. I signed up for mentorship but that takes time and was wondering what groups would be good to ask questions and if there are other locations on trailhead to communicate with people for getting

My question is how can i have multiple relations fact tables with multiple relations dimension tables

I have a large dataset and i want to relation it. My example is:

 

I want to relate table "13TipoHidrocarburo" with tables "VolumenCNH", "VolumenContratista" and "VolumenFMP" but at the same time this tables has relations with "DatosContratosPC_FMP...." one (the root table). I can´t complete my relation. I attach my example.

    However you could get around this in different ways.

    (1) If you have access to the underlying database you could create a view onto TABLE D for each time you want to relate it to the other tables.

    (2) You could double click into the physical join layer for the tables you want to join onto TABLE D, and join onto TABLE D using a physical join.

login issues.

I'm student at Montgomery college/ Maryland. I received my activation link and I missed the deadline to sign up. I requested a new activation code and still waiting.!!! I need to submit a final project using Tableau and I need someone to help me. The extension ends Thursday 08/25. I need help

    Hi @Donaldo McPherson Gonzalez​ ,

    You have 2 options you can use while waiting for the new activation link:

    • Try Tableau Public which is free for everyone to use
    • When you download Tableau you sign up to get a free trial for 15 days.

I will have any problem if I entered my personal e-mail instead of my school e-mail to create my account for the student version?

    I have a feeling the application won't be accepted with a personal email. See the FAQ on this

    If you email CustomerService@SheerID.com  they should be able to advise whether they can change your email or they might just ask you to reapply with the correct email

Student Certification Discount

I understood from this link https://www.tableau.com/academic/student-certification that I can get a 20% discount for the Tableau Desktop Specialist Certification Exam until December 31, 2021.

However, when I tried to schedule for the exam, the discount voucher did not automatically apply.

I emailed certification@tableau.com two days ago, but I still haven't gotten a response yet.

Anyone else have the same problem?

    If you're having issues accessing your discounted student certification, please email tft@tableau.com for help. Please wait 1-2 weeks for a response and you should be all set!

Installation

Hi,

 

I am trying to install Tableau Desktop to my computer. I am going in circles around the website because I have been verified and there were no steps following confirmation at my university. The only option I see is a free 14 day trial. Please advise.

    Hi Adam,

     

    You have submitted your request to get a free year student license and now waiting on the responding email to receive a key is that correct? And if this is true, you will use the trial until the approval process is completed. Look for an email with the Tableau product key that is good for a year after activation. Let me know if the trial has expired and when did you submit the request for approval? Thanks! @Adam Tran​

If you are still a student at the end of the one-year student license period, can you request another one-year student license?

My university isnt shown up in the list when i want to apply for the student license and i cant add it. That means i cant use the students license?

    You can add your school! We updated the Student FAQ with this information below:

     

    We have recently moved our verification process to a closed list, which is why you might not see your school listed. However, you can fill out SheerID’s Add School Form in order to request that your school be added to the list. You can do so here (). To qualify, the school must be an accredited, degree-granting, academic institution.

     

    SheerID’s team has a turn around time of 7 days, so please utilize our free 14-day trial while your request is being processed. Please note: if the request is rejected, you will not receive communication of this.

Made a mistake when signing up for Tableau student

While signing up for Tableau student, I made a mistake of using the wrong email address. I submitted all my verification info already under my name but the only incorrect part was the email address. I tried going through the process again but since it already verified under my name, I got blocked. Is there anyway for the email to get re-forwarded to the correct one cause currently it got sent to an email that doesn't even exist.

How do you get it to accept you are a student?

It will not accept my student ID, Registration page, Payment proof for classes, screen shot showing my name, current class listing with current date (AS THEY REQUESTED). And I have assignments due.

    Hello @ronaele rowley​ -- I will take a look at your information to see how I can help. Either you already have an active key (we do not distribute more than one license key per 365 days) or you do not qualify for an individual student license and need to receive a license key from your instructor. I will email you separately to try and resolve this for you.
