Dear Admins,
I'm working on a Legacy Org with a few hundred users, a lot profiles, a lot of permission sets, and planning to simplify as much as I can.
The question I have is this, should I create a profile for each Sales Team or a single profile for all sales teams and open up permissions with P. sets... my consideration is that each Sales Team will require a few different fields each.
My Salesforce Training tells me to create each team a Profile and Page Layout (and/or field visisbility p. sets when needed), but as I review more from the Salesforce world, should we be disregarding the Page Layouts in favor of LRP Dynamic Pages, from what I am reading the answer is for UI purposes the answer is yes.
I just wanted to see what other admins are doing if that's OK?
One caution: Be sure one Lightning Page Layout with conditional viz does not become overwhelming for you as the Admin. I made one Lighting Page Layout and conditioned viz instead of making Record Types and I VERY QUICKLY came to regret it...... the page got sooooo long and complex it was hard for me as the Admin to update or change it. I was scrolling forever to make edits; I got a bunch of complext viz rules..... I believe there is still a place for Record Types, and Lightning Page Layouts assigned to each.
