how to get the selected value of a filter
I want to use the selected value from a filter in my statement , eg there is a filter called name and it has values like mcy,myr,acs,tft etc.
now if I select mcy from a filter then in the statement .<selected value from filter>. is very good product

You must have defined your filter on a particular field right, add that field in your statement.
I believe your need this statement for the header of the report, If yes then you should add the field to the detail shelf for it to be available. Also your filter should be single value list type to pass one value at a time.
