To the Community:

Like many others, working on the Developer "Getting Ready to Develop" section, currently trying to "Authorize An Org": per the trail I have a Playground (Dreamhouse) that I have converted to stand-alone as the trail instructs and now trying to authorize it in VS Code.  When I do, VS spews an error (also see attached):

--set-default Error (LightningDomain): Invalid instance URL. It should NOT be a lightning domain.

Get Ready to Develop: No Lightning Domain URLs Allowed?

Now, my playgrounds all have the Lightning Domain...did I miss some step in converting the Playground?

    Try to retake this steps:

    1. Open the Command Palette again and enter SFDX: Authorize an Org.
    2. Choose Production in the next screen and then provide the org alias as myDevOrg.
    3. Your browser opens a Salesforce login page. Enter your credentials for your Trailhead Playground org. If prompted, click Allow to allow Salesforce CLI to perform actions against your org, such as code deploy.

    Sincerely,
