We have a matching rule on Accounts that looks at exact matches:

(Account Name AND Billing Street)

OR (Account Name AND ZIP)

OR (Account Name AND Phone)

OR (Website AND Phone)

OR (Website AND Billing Street)

This works for the majority of our accounts. However we have had to introduce a form of duplicate account to handle a certain scenario. This has the prefix of one of our products, so there are now two accounts that are virtually the same, one called 'Business 123' and one called 'Product Business 123'. They have the same address.

I want the duplicate rule to ignore any account prefixed with 'Product' as a potential duplicate, but can't work out how to manage it. I saw in another thread a suggestion to duplicate a field and use that in the duplicate rule as an exact match, but I think that will allow duplicates of accounts that don't fit this criteria.

How can I exclude this small group of accounts?

Hi @Clyde Netto, unfortunately I haven't managed to get this to work yet. I have something else to complete first but will get back on this soon. Thanks for your suggestion.
