I've gotten a metadata file from my Google admin and I used 'New from Metadata File' and setup SSO but I keep getting this error

We can't log you in because of an issue with single sign-on. Contact your Salesforce admin for help.

There are no login history records. The same thing happens on sandbox. How can I figure out what the exact error is? Where do I get the SAML Assertions to test? Anyone have any guidance to finding specific errors or what I can do to proceed?

    I have found the solution. I used a chrome extension called SAML-tracer. It showed me the exact error I had. My ACS URL was misconfigured. After fixing that it worked like a charm.
