We have an update regarding Salesforce.org’s social channels (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook + Youtube)

What’s happening?

The Salesforce Social Team is announcing the consolidation of all Salesforce.org social channels that will take place over the coming months. This is not an end to sharing education and nonprofit content but rather expands who will see this content. The social team will continue sharing education and nonprofit content on the Salesforce social accounts and accounts like Dreamforce and Trailhead.

Why is this happening?

The education and nonprofit communities are a vital part of the Salesforce family. By moving to the main Salesforce handles, we bring the rest of the Salesforce community up-to-date on what's happening with Education/Nonprofits, and reach a greater number of Trailblazers in the ecosystem. The social team is still committed to the education and nonprofit communities; content will be changing channels, but not stopping.

Ok, so what does this mean?

Salesforce.org” specific social handles will be consolidated, and instead the social team will work with the core social team to share posts from Salesforce, Dreamforce, and Trailhead channels.

What will happen to existing/legacy content posted on .org channels?

After the handles are consolidated, we will have content moved to the following channels:

  • Salesforce corporate (@Salesforce) - Announcements, product innovations, or general education or nonprofit content will be posted to the Salesforce social channels (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, TikTok).
  • Events (@Dreamforce) - We will begin including all events posts on the Salesforce Events handle, Dreamforce (Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram).
  • Trailhead (@Trailhead) - Trailhead educational content will be included under the umbrella of the Trailhead account (Twitter, LinkedIn).
  • YouTube (@Salesforce Youtube) - We will be migrating select videos in-house and using Salesforce Youtube in the future.*

*NOTE: The Commons project "Nonprofit Salesforce How-To Series" videos are not hosted by Salesforce and these changes will have no impact. Currently, .org product documentation links to a Salesforce.org-hosted playlist of the team videos, and we have a plan and timeline in place to update those links.

When is this happening?

Social channels will be consolidated on May 5. YouTube channel consolidation will be coming at a later date due to the volume of content that is being reviewed prior to moving channels. We understand that YouTube hosts helpful content, which is why we are taking the correct amount of time to make sure the transition goes smoothly. The exact dates are still being determined.

Last but not least — Salesforce remains committed to philanthropic giving, the power of our products and technology to deliver and accelerate impact (Power of Us Program, Nonprofit Cloud), volunteerism, equality, and sustainability.

What you can do today!

  • Follow social channels - Follow the Salesforce, Dreamforce & Trailhead channels listed above.
  • Connect with the Community - There are a number of Nonprofit and Education specific groups in the Trailblazer Community that still remain active and are places for you to engage with the community!
  • Follow the Nonprofit Salesforce How-To-Series channel on Youtube.

Questions? Please reply on this thread directly, and I will relay feedback to the Social Team (who is overseeing this transition). Thanks!
