Lets take a use case of a event based on cart_abandonment event, if i do a random split. Does the split happens even?

1. If a user abandon the cart at 10am , goes to path A

2. Another user enters the cart event at 11, does the user go to path A Or B?

Can anyone share me the right documentation for random split for event based journeys. Thank you!

    Hi @Nivetha Karthikeyan

You can check here, might help you.

In Marketing Cloud, a random split is a type of split activity that divides a group of subscribers into two or more randomly selected subgroups. This is often used to test the effectiveness of different marketing messages or tactics, by sending different messages or variations to each subgroup and comparing the results.

To use a random split in an event-based campaign, you will need to create a split activity in the journey builder and specify the percentage of subscribers that should be included in each subgroup. For example, if you want to split your subscribers into two subgroups, you could specify 50% for one subgroup and 50% for the other.

Once the split activity has been configured, it will automatically divide the subscribers entering the journey into the specified subgroups based on the percentages you have defined. You can then use the output of the split activity to send different messages or perform different actions for each subgroup.

For example, you could use an email activity to send different emails to each subgroup, or use a decision split to route subscribers to different paths based on which subgroup they were placed in.

Keep in mind that the random split activity is only evaluated when a subscriber enters the journey, so if a subscriber is removed from the journey and re-enters at a later time, they will not be re-evaluated by the split activity.
