I added a Long Text Area field to the opportunity Product object. When I add a product to an opportunity in Lightning the field is locked so that I cannot add any text to it. However, after saving the product, if I edit the product (or double-click on the field) then the field is writable and I can add text to it. If I try it in Classic then the field is writeable as I'm adding the product to the opportunity. Does anyone have any idea why the field is read-only only when I'm adding the product when using LEX? Thanks in advance!

    I did a Chat session with Salesforce Support and got this response: 

     

    Unfortunately, it seems that this is currently a limitation in Lightning Multi-Line layout and there is no workaround available at the moment. However, here is an Idea you can upvote as a possible enhancement in Salesforce in the future: https://ideas.salesforce.com/s/idea/a0B8W00000GdpCpUAJ/allow-editing-of-long-text-areas-in-lightning-multiline-layout
