Hi, I am creating a custom report type that will allow me to track opportunities by a custom contact role record type. For this report, I am wanting to show opportunities by AVP. The problem I think I am running into is with the role hierarchy. My custom contact role record type has the reports to hierarchy filled out, so when I want to look at opportunities by AVP, if there are two names under an AVP (like an RVP or an AE), all listed on the same deal, the deal shows up multiple times in my report. When I try to filter out people with just the AVP role, the people still show up in the report type and (incorrectly) as an AVP, even though nowhere on their record are they an AVP. I think it's because they are associated with an AVP?
how else can I exclude the other people listed on the same opportunity who are are not listed as an AVP role?
I was able to resolve it, turns out there was more than one Role option and I just needed to add the correct one!
