Hi all,

I'm working with a non-profit feeding service that's serving a growing number of locations across southern Missouri. I searched for discussions but most seemed to be from 2016 or earlier.

We're searching for an App to manage and track inventory for a process that is increasingly giving away tens of thousands of meals per week.

This is how I (roughly) understand the process: food is purchased and sent to the various locations for storage and assembly; those various food items are assembled into bags / meals that are sent home with families. As more meals are assembled it depletes what is in stock which triggers a purchase to send more supplies to that location.

Are you aware of Apps that other similar food banks are using, especially those that are connected to the USDA feeding assistance program.

I currently have two Apps downloaded in a Sandbox for testing:

-- RIO Inventory

-- Inventory Manager for Nonprofits

Inventory Manager seems much more basic (great value because its free) and I'm concerned there are only 2 reviews on App Exchange. I'm not sure out of the box it has the functionality we need.

I like that RIO Inventory is more affordable ($120/user/year while others cost $50 to $120/month) and it has much of the functionality we're looking for with "kits" and bar code scanning; however its last release was in December of 2018 and I'm concerned its been so long.

Any guidance and advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Josh

@Mark Stark, is the implementation that you did working. We are thinking in creating something similar for our small nonprofit in Albany, NY. We are creating the first culturally responsive food pantry in the area. Is there any way that we can connect to talk about your best practices and challenges. We are using PMM to track all our programs and I can develop the custom object.
