How to make a hyperlink field show as a pop up window instead of web page?

The "edit campaign member" field on the Campaign Member object is a formula field: HYPERLINK("/" + Id, "Edit Campaign Member", "_self") . I want this field to open a pop-up window to edit a campaign member instead of it navigating to a web page. Any suggestions on how I can do this?

    Yeah I tried the _blank, but ultimately we'd rather have it open up in the same tab instead of a new one. Thanks for sharing that help article and about the browser config. Sounds like this actually might not be possible then. I appreciate the feedback.
