I added the Campaign field to BDE Settings for Opportunity, but after saving, the field does not show up when creating a new batch.
In a different instance of SF, I have the Campaign field on BDE and it displays just fine.
One hint, possibly: The Field Accessibility grid for this field shows it as read-only "because of Page Layout"...but it is not read only on any page layouts.
Any ideas?

Yes, I'd recommend uninstalling the old BDE package assuming they are ok losing the batch id. otherwise you'd need to migrate the batches to the new schema. having both in the instance will lead to ongoing confusion!
