Does anyone know if it's possible to transfer a Force.Com domain name from one Salesforce instance to another? The case here is that I'm working with an organization who is moving instances and wants to keep the same domain name.

I would log a Case to change the domain name on the "old" Force.com site and let Support know why you're doing it. That should "free up" the domain name to be used for the new site. I would *test* this first with a non-critical domain to see if it works, however.
