Is adding Customized Rollups directly via Metadata supported?

The UI for #Customizable Rollups​ is great, but adding several rollups is slow. Is there any issue / has anyone tried to deploy directly via metadata api? Are any other steps necessary?

    Confirm that it worked fine to edit. didn't try adding but assume that should work too!
