Date Formula Field Issue

I found a formula posted online to set a field based on today's date to the last day of that month plus one year out.  It has been working until we hit the month of December. It is now only setting it to end of December but not one year out.

 

Here is the formula:

 

IF(

 

MONTH( CloseDate ) = 12,

 

DATE( YEAR( CloseDate ), 12, 31 ),

 

DATE( YEAR( CloseDate )+ 1, MONTH ( CloseDate ) + 1, 1 ) - 1

 

)

 

 

 

Example of what was working:

 

11/12/2019 would set to 11/30/2020

 

Example of what is not working:

 

12/3/2019 now sets to 12/31/2019 (instead of 12/31/2020)

 

Any help would be appreciated.

    Can you post the other Formula that you're using?  

     

    Are you trying to do something like this?

    ADDMONTHS(DATE(YEAR(TODAY()) ,MONTH(TODAY()), 01), 13) - 1
