Conditional formatting on rows in dashboards

I have a dashboard which displays on all users home screens. I would like to set a conditional format so that when an opportunity closed date has expired, that row is highlighted. Is this even possible? There is an option for conditional highlighting however only for specifric columns (amount, probability etc no use to me)
