Ramsay, what errors are you seeing? Have you made sure that your import CSV file has the correct setup in terms of headers and data?
If the CSV file setup is correct and you cannot figure out what's going on, I would highly recommend performing the same import using the following:

I am not particularly fond of the native import wizards and prefer dataloader.io (since it's on the cloud, you don't need to install anything either) interface/functionality over them anyday. Also, the success/failure logging of import wizards isn't very elaborate and can be funky at times.
Use the same import file to import contacts via dataloader.io and map the fields as you did before.
