When Opportunity is Close Lost, validation rule on a Picklist and a text field

Hello Community, 

 

I have a requirement that requires two fields to be completed when an opportunity  is set to "Closed Lost."

 

One is a Picklist (Lost_Reason__c) & the other is a text (Comments__c) 

 

Here is what I have so far:

 

AND(IsClosed,

 

NOT(IsWon),

 

 ISPICKVAL( Lost_Reason__c , ""))

 

When I add the Comments__c text field to the validation rule, it fails. 

 

How would I create a validation rule that requires both Loss Reason & Comments if the Opportunity is set to Closed Lost?

    Hi Ryan,

     

    Try this out:

    AND(
    TEXT(StageName) = "Closed Lost",
    OR(
    ISBLANK(TEXT(Lost_Reason__c)),
    ISBLANK(Comments__c)
    )
    )
