Error: Can't activate an order with partially segmented order items.
Can anyone explain this for me?
An update from me, we just stopped using MDQ because of all the issues. Over the last year we've implemented CPQ Billing and regenerated all of our contracts to not include MDQ. The issue we were having was that we were integrating Orders to NetSuite and not invoices. The orders would be invoiced in batch jobs run by NetSuite based on the order date, so in practice, we could have the order sitting out there waiting to be invoiced.
The issue had was that we couldn't Activate and contract these orders for seperate segements. At the end of the day, MDQ could be used more effectively at this point as we're sending over the invoices, but we still have a number of different ordering processes and with the experience we've had (and lack of support) has soured the organization on using MDQ.
What I'm hearing is that you don't need to order all of the products at once, but you do need to have all of the related segments on the same order to contract.
