Gmail extension is missing options

Regarding the gmail salesforce extension, I only seem to be able to log an email and see tasks. I've seen screenshots of the extension with other options which I'm missing (screenshot below). I tried re-installing.

For example when I click on an email, there is no option to add the contact. To associate the email with a contact or lead I have to manually add them directly in salesforce first.

Any ideas please? Thanks
