I am looking to create a solution that would allow our organization's volunteers to record attendance information for our programs into Salesforce without needing to login to Salesforce. As of now our programs will be custom objects with related enrollment objects containing information about attendance.
We are looking at communities to solve this problem. Can someone shine any light on if there is a way for volunteers to engage with communities that woud allow them to easily create enrollment records or update them (I'm thinking even a batch entry sort of set up).
Or does anyone have experience with another solution for this kind of problem?

Assuming you provide your volunteers with a login then yes it should be possible to expose your enrollment objects with the information you need. Batch load maybe tougher though depending on how strict the data format is assuming you're talking about having a file that they upload.
