Update child and parent field on update.

I have a self lookup with Opportunity. Once the parent is removed from the child then i need to update the status (Status__c='Alone') and in the parent removed is not having any child Opportunity then the status of that opportunity should also be updated to (Status__c='Alone'). Help me with the trigger.
