New Event Button Not Visible

In the past, I have seen the New Event button underneath my activity tab. It was there with New Task, Log a Call, and Email.

I created a new event record type, because I ant to start logging events using this object. I want to create multiple record types for events so that we can track them acurately. But now I cannot see the button to create a new event. I can see it is still in the account page layout, but cannot find it on the page.
