Lightning for Outlook - Outbound vs Inbound Email Message

Hi.  I am using the 'Lightning for Outlook' add-in.  It works great except I am noticing that whenever I relate an inbound email from a customer, when I pull it up in SFDC, it shows as a "Outbound Email Message".  Can someone please confirm that this is an ISSUE, and not something that I missed in configuration?  Thanks!
