Trigger a Task Reminder Email if a Task is completed but no new one created?

Question

Here's the scenario - sales rep completes a Task but fails to create a follow up task for a future date.

I know I can use a workflow to create the follow up task but the sales manager has asked if instead these condition would simply trigger an email reminder to the sales rep to create the future task.

I've tried using workflow on Task Object but there is no Email Alert option, and I've tried the Account object but can't see any Task related trigger fields.

I think (for now) you will have to approach this on a programmatic way.

Right now Enabling the  Email alert as workflow action for events and tasks is not available but this is currently scheduled to be included with the Spring '16 release.For timing on when the release will hit your org, please check out trust.salesforce.com.    For more details,Please visit this  idea .   If you want badly right now,then yiou need to create a trigger for this, Here  is an example for you
