I have a feeling I need to use some kind of a contains formula to do this but I'm not sure where I go in to define my industries and the criteria. Any help much appreciated!

Looks like this person is trying to do the same thing. In their case their formula would be too big because they have 100 or 200 values. In your case of 30, you may have enough space, but be warned it's not pretty!
