How to enable "Instant Results as You Type" for custom field with an External ID in Lightning Global Search?

I have a custom object with three fields that I want to be available in the "Instant Results as You Type" area of the Lightning Global Search.  I'm in a multi-languages context, and have name fields for each language that we need to be able to search.  These are searchable by hitting enter, but we only get Instant Results with the _Name_ field.  Any help?

Hi,

Use global search while in Setup to find specific setup records, such as the Lead Source picklist or the Sales Rep profile. Global search differs from Quick Find, which finds pages within the Setup menu, such as Account Settings or Profiles.
