I am new to the community, but am excited to learn and hopefully contribute a bit as well. I am a new System Admin, and just last week completed ADM-201. I have a question I'd like to pose, and it's one I've been unable to answer myself. Still learning!
In our SF database, we'd like to capture the top 5 strengths of each of our contacts. I created five custom fields: "strength #1, strength #2, strength #3, strength #4, and strength #5," and within each field is the same list of thirty-four strengths to chose from. No issues! :)
Next, I was trying to set it up so that if in Strength #1 you selected "Achiever" for example, that a Depended multi-picklist would offer you the drop down of one of Four Leadership themes (Executing, Influencing, Relationship Building or Strategic Thinking), automatically selecting the right one for you, which I did correctly by including the values. .
I have since learned you cannot have the same Dependent picklist for more than one controlling field, and now I am at a standstill. I am grateful for any feedback!
Our ultimate goal is to have five strength fields and one multi-picklist that has the four leadership themes populated automatically, based on what was selected in each of the five strengths fields.
Thank you so much!

Dear Phillip & Thomas,
Thank you so much for the warm welcome. My apologies for the delay in responding. The email notifications that I had responses to my question were in my spam (a folder I check infrequently!).
Thomas, your question "So someone with a diverse set of Strengths might tick all 4 Leadership Themes, while someone else might have all their Strengths under one Leadership Theme. Is that correct?" is right!
I am glad to know the multi-picklist won't work, and that I wasn't just going crazy. The checkboxes are a great alternative, thank you for sharing your suggestion.
Thomas, to answer your last question, it would be ideal if we knew how many strengths appeared in each theme. I have two co-workers who have different views on this, and I'm trying to accomade both. Person #1 cares to know how many Leadership Themes a person falls under. Co-worker #2 only cares to know which is a person's dominant Leadership Theme (like is this contact most dominant in Executing, Influencing, Relationship Building, or Strategic?)
Again, thank you both so much for your advice and insight. I hope to help others, just as you've helped me!
