Formula for the average for the grand total and subtotals

I am looking to find the average number of optys created per month out of a total of 12 month. What would the formula for this be?

I have created the field but an having trouble with the formula on the report. I am only getting 1 as an output when I choose the average of the power of 1 field I created... I want to know the average # of opportunities created each month and over 12 months.. So I created the power of 1 on the opportunity...
