Lock Field from being updated based on role

I want to lock a field on the account object from being edited by certain roles. We are ok with allowing all roles with access to the field to be able to insert data in the field but we don't want to permit certain roles from being able to update the data.

 

Any ideas?

    Somethin like this:

     

    AND(

     

            NOT(ISNEW()),

     

            ISCHANGED(Field_Name__c),

     

            OR(

     

                   $UserRole.Name = '<Name-Of-the-Role-To-Watch-Out>',          

     

                   $UserRole.Name = '<Name-Of-the-Role-To-Watch-Out>',          

     

                   .....
