I am having a serious issue with our users being able to view our accounts.
We are a social services agency. All of our client records are in the system as contacts. We have several different account record types. These include client providers, the different residences where the clients live, schools in the area, etc.
There doesn't seem to be an issue with contact privileges. I have tested several of our profiles and that seems to be working okay and the profiles who need to view contacts can view them.
However, I was just testing a custom profile I created and realized I couldn't view ANY of the accounts with that profile. So I tested a few more of the custom profiles. Again, couldn't view any of the account records. Then I realized that I could edit an account record but couldn't view it.
All of our profiles have a minimum of View All privileges for Accounts. Not all have Editing privileges, but all have viewing privileges. Our organization wide default for accounts is read/write. I even tried making a sharing rule that would give certain profiles access to view certain account record types but that didn't work.
I created all of the accounts and put them into our system so I am the account owner. I am a system administrator, so based on the role hierarchy, no one is above me. However, I want almost all of our users to be able to view these accounts.
Can someone please help me? I am completely stumped on how to fix this. I am the owner of all of these accounts, but I want our users to be able to view them.
Thanks!

The other thing I think I see is that this Account Edit page is a custom page. When I Edit from my Account list, I have a different page appearance. Any chance the VF page is not 'enabled' for the Profile?
