Logging a Call Button on Contacts Object

I need help creating a button on the Contacts object that, when clicked, will take the user to the Log A Call screen. This would similar to clicking the Log A Call button on the related list.

 

I'm new to creating button, so any guidance would be appreciated.

    This is standar behaviour for contact object.

     

    If you do not see button go and Edit Layout and expose button to layout.

    How do you modify the Log a Call page layout?

     

    Resolution

    The Log a Call page layout, which is loaded when clicking on the "log a call" button in the Activity History related list, can be accessed on the edit version of the Task Page Layout:

     

    App Setup | Customize | Activities | Task Page Layouts

     

    When you open the Task Layout in Edit mode, every grey header is labeled with "Header Visibile in Edit Only", as such, removing any field in the Task Layout Edit Mode will remove it from the Log a Call Page Layout as well.
