When replies come in for e-mails I've sent  from requests in salesforce it goes into my outlook.  I use Salesforce for Outlook to import the e-mails back into salesforce but it only attaches the e-mail to my salesforce account, not the specific request it pertains to.

Even when I open the message once it is imported into salesforce and add the request number it is related to it only shows up in the recent history of the request thus I can not reply to the message itself.

Is there anyway to automate the attachement of the reply to the request # and/or is there any way to make it so I can reply to the e-mail once it is in salesforce?

Hi J, Salesforce for Outlook can associate incoming emails with Salesforce records when it can identify a matching contact or related record, but it may not automatically associate the reply with a specific Request number/custom record.

If the Request is a custom object, you may need to use custom automation or Apex to associate the incoming email with the appropriate Request record based on the Request number in the subject/body.

As for replying directly from Salesforce, that depends on how the email is stored and the Salesforce features available in your org. If you can share whether “Request” is a standard or custom object and how the original email is being sent, it would help determine the best approach.
