Search functionality does not behave as expected

We have an asset detail record with a "Serial Number" field. One of our records has the following for this field.

 

G66Z0-11500-025B0-0000F-0AA32-44443

 

When I try searching for "44443" (with or without wildcards) I'm not getting a match for this record.

 

Any ideas on how to correct this?

    I don't see this "advanced search" option anywhere.  Do you have any documentation showing how to access this, or screenshots?
