Stop an out of office reply from creating multiple cases

Someone's out of office reply is creating multiple cases in a loop. How do I stop this?

Just wondering if this question ever got resolved, since our company is getting out-of-office loops now that create thousands of cases before we can detect and resolve the problem.

Is there a solution within SalesForce? Or must it be done in Outlook?
