Override or Conditional Field for Term discount schedule?

We are using a term discount scheduled but we do not want it to apply in all cases. We want a way to allow the user opt out of the discount such as having a checkbox on the quote or edit the discount and set it to zero. I see info on the Overrider discount schedule, but this doesn't seem to apply for Term based discount schedules. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this?

    One more note to add. As a work around to this limitation for Term Based Discount Schedules, we tried to apply the term discount to Product Option instead of at the product level. It appears that we can only apply a Quantity based Discount Schedule at the Product Option or Feature level. Is there any way around that?
