I have purchased a domain and redirected the domain to a Pardot Landing Page. However, the url instead of directing to the landing page directs me to the home page of our current website. Can someone help?

That sounds like something you would need to talk with your Domain Provider about to get assistance. I am not sure how redirecting Domains works but it sounds like you have done the right things and it's still not working as you expect.
I will say that the CNAME and TXT items you mentioned are unrelated to the redirecting process you outlined. Those would be more for if you wanted to have. a subdomain in your Pardot instance and rewrite your links to that subdomain name instead of the default
go.pardot.comlinks.
