Hi. I'm currently trying to setup an SSO with normal provisioning using a Sandbox account to test out an SSO provider. I had originally gone with Okta for SSO and it works, but they asked me to setup a sandbox to test with VMware's Identity Manager.
I found these directions which seem to work fine for setting up a connection directly into my developer environment of Salesforce. When I try to apply this to a Sandbox environment I get this. "We can't log you in, Check for an invalid Assertion".
I think that I'm getting stuck somewhere in passing my assertion to my sandbox, because when I check my failed logins in the Sandbox, I don't see any at all.
Anyone have any ideas where to look next?

The best thing to do is use the SAML Tracer plugin, set the SAML assertion and validate it here: https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=sso_saml_validation.htm&type=5
