Hello Everyone! I could use some help/advice with the Lead conversion process in Lightning.
When a user is converting a Lead record in Lightning and wants to merge it with an existing Contact, is there a way that the user can ignore the Account section of the convert page, similar to the setting to default the checkbox that prevents and Opp from being created?
I would think the Salesperson should be able to just merge the Lead to the Contact and ignore the Account section, or at least have the Account that the Contact is attached to pre-selected on the conversion page. But as near as I can tell the Salesperson still has to search for an existing Account (potentially different from the chosen Contact?!?), or create a new one, which we would not want to happen.
I'm new to Lightning and Duplicate/Matching rules, so it's highly likely I'm missing something here, so any help is appreciated!

I think the process the way it works now was understood but that there is some room for improvement without custom buttons and triggers.
The current lightning lead conversion process for an existing contact and account requires the user to select both the Account and the existing Contact record.
It would be helpful if the user could simply pick the existing contact that the lead will be converted into and the system picks up the account information based on that selection.
It reduces a step in the process for the users.
