When transitioning to Lightning Experience, it can be challenging to get your users to make the switch. With Summer ‘18, you have a new way to amp up Lightning Experience usage, without any additional setup on your part. If users have the Lightning Experience User permission but are working in Salesforce Classic, they’re automatically switched to Lightning Experience on a regular basis. They’re greeted by a welcome mat with onboarding resources, so they can quickly get their bearings. We used this approach internally to successfully switch Salesforce employees to Lightning Experience and we think you’ll get good results too.

This feature is turned on by default because it’s assumed that you want your Lightning Experience-enabled users to work in the new interface. Users are switched on a weekly (default) or daily schedule. To avoid interrupting a user’s work, they’re switched the next time they log in after the schedule resets.

Note: If you have users with the Lightning Experience User permission who shouldn’t be switched yet, fine-tune your setup with permission sets and custom profiles. See “Set Up Users for Lightning Experience” in Salesforce Help (https://sfdc.co/bsEtZl) for all the details.

You can turn off this feature. Instead of disabling automatic switching for your entire org, however, we recommend disabling the feature for specific users via a permission set (using the Remain in Salesforce Classic user permission).

For full details about this feature, including how to configure or disable it, check out “Encourage Users to Adopt Lightning Experience” (https://sfdc.co/b2nrJT) in the Salesforce Summer ‘18 Release Notes.
