I am so excited to attend, yet so scared.... how do I make friends, so I am not alone there

I went last year for the first time and I went alone, but I made friends while checking to my hotel, in the line for coffee, in the various zones, and at every networking event. Friendly people are plentiful! I literally stopped groups of people and asked if they minded if I tagged along and not one person told me "no" all week.
