Slack Consultant Certification Overview

As a Slack Consultant, you deliver the best value when you help organizations design collaborative solutions that improve productivity, streamline work, and support successful adoption in Slack.

Certified Slack Consultants deliver value when they:

  • Design Slack solutions that support collaboration, automation, and business goals.
  • Guide customers through workspace governance, permissions, and change management decisions.
  • Connect Slack with Salesforce and other tools to support work across teams.
  • Recommend AI-powered features and workflows that improve efficiency and user adoption.

This badge highlights key updates you need to know for Summer ’26 to keep your certification current and your skills sharp.

Automate Repeatable Work with Slackbot Skills

With Slackbot skills, you can turn repeatable processes into reusable AI automations. Use skills for tasks like writing project updates, preparing reports, summarizing information, or organizing next steps. Slackbot applies the correct skill automatically based on a prompt, which helps teams work more consistently across projects and departments.

Use Slackbot skills to:

  • Create campaign plans and schedules.
  • Summarize spreadsheets and project updates.
  • Organize action items and next steps.
  • Prepare recurring status reports.

Skills also give organizations more control over how teams use AI in Slack. In Enterprise organizations, you can assign system roles like Skill Manager to manage skill sharing and distribution. You can also target skills to specific groups based on the work those teams do.

Note

Start with repeatable tasks that already follow a clear process. Those usually make the best skills.

Manage Customer Relationships in Slack

Salesforce-powered customer management features let teams manage customer information directly in Slack. When admins enable customer management in Slack, Slack creates a Salesforce Free Edition org to support those features. Teams can manage contacts, leads, and support cases directly in Slack while keeping conversations connected to customer records.

For example, you can:

  • Capture leads from website forms.
  • Review and respond to leads in Slack channels.
  • Reply to support emails from Slack.
  • Log calls, meetings, and customer interactions.
  • Sync calendar and email activity with Salesforce using Einstein Activity Capture.

Slackbot can also help find the correct Salesforce record, draft updates, and prompt for review before making changes.

Review customer activity, respond to requests, and collaborate around records directly in Slack instead of switching between systems.

Note

Customer management in Slack uses Salesforce features like Web-to-Lead, Email-to-Case, and Einstein Activity Capture.

Review Flagged Content with More Context

Slack expanded the review experience for flagged content in Enterprise organizations. Admin-appointed reviewers can now review the full conversation thread, including parent messages and replies, even if they don’t typically have access to that content. This added context helps reviewers make more accurate moderation decisions.

Slack also expanded content flagging to include channel names, topics, and descriptions. Reviewers see a moderation interface tailored to each type of content. Admins can also choose which types of content users can flag.

Teams can flag:

  • Messages
  • Profile content
  • Channel names
  • Channel topics
  • Channel descriptions

Use the Content Admin system role to assign reviewers who manage flagged content and moderation workflows. This setup helps organizations review content more consistently and gives admins more oversight into moderation workflows.

Note

Flagged content goes to designated reviewers inside the organization. Slack does not review the flagged content itself.

Wrap Up

You explored Summer ’26 updates that expand how people use AI, customer management, and moderation tools in Slack. By connecting Slackbot skills, Salesforce-powered customer management features, and content review tools, organizations can support collaboration while keeping work organized and secure.
