Consumer Goods Cloud Offline Mobile App in Retail Execution

If you completed the Retail Execution in Consumer Goods Cloud module, you saw how Chantelle Jackson, the field rep at Alpine Group Nutrition & Beverage, uses the Consumer Goods Cloud offline mobile app to perform retail activities when visiting stores with poor internet connectivity. You also learned about the various benefits that the app offers field reps.

In brief, the Consumer Goods offline mobile app enables field reps to record data in offline mode while executing retail visits. Field reps can sync their mobile device with data from Salesforce anytime they want. Data they enter on their device is uploaded to Salesforce during background sync. This intuitive mobile solution is compatible with iOS and Android phones and tablets.

In this module, you follow Chantelle as she installs the offline app in her mobile device, explores its various features, and uses it during her store visits.

Before diving in, let’s review how the app helps field reps like Chantelle stay organized while juggling their in-field activities.

  • Connectivity: Gives field reps full offline support with high scalable background synchronization.
  • Usability: Offers reps a process-driven UI, with a single point of access for all visit activities.
  • Multi-form factor: Lets field reps use all types of form factors including tablets. With the responsive UI, users can flip their iPad or tablet to another screen orientation.
  • Efficiency: Provides barcode scanning to improve rep efficiency in front of the shelf.
  • Custom branding: Preserves brand visuals with theming capabilities.
  • No additional license: The offline app is already included in the Consumer Goods Cloud subscription.
  • Extensibility: Extends the app to meet market-specific needs of the users.
  • Map integration: Allows users to review the entire route, see current traffic, and use turn-by-turn navigation to get to the next store.
  • Visit execution: Enables reps to execute visits for the most common assessment task types fully offline.
  • Visit Calendar: Enables field reps to review the entire visit schedule for the week. Reps can replan visits easily using drag-and-drop in the Calendar.
