No Code November

For the entire month of November, this group is dedicated to finding creative ways to deliver features to customers without one line of code.

I'm looking for a solution for grouping my no-code configurations, to better manage complex apps and configuration. From what I read in Trailheads, it seems only option to work with packages involves various desktop programmes and coding. Can you suggest a solution or point me in the right direction? Thanks

Make life simpler for your users by giving them the ability to assign a Salesforce record to themselves with a click of the button on the record detail page.

In support of #NoCodeNovember, for the entire month of November, there is a success community group (@No Code November) dedicated to finding creative ways to deliver features to customers without one line of code.

This is a use case solved by clicks instead of code in Salesforce Classic. (Note: This will not work in Lightning Experience.)

Hope you find it helpful.

New Blog: Assign a Record to Me

I'm hoping to accomplish this without code (especially since, as a non-coder, every month is #NoCodeNovember for me). I opened a Case with support, but their solution was Visualforce; I'm hoping the great minds out there might have a different solution.

I built Compliance object for our B2C business unit. The Compliance object has a master-detail relationship with Accounts. I've also built another object, Insiders, which connects Contacts and a table of publicly-traded companies (Securities). A Contact can have more than one Insider record. The majority of the time, the relevant Insider records belong to the related Account. The less common use case is a Contact from another Account might need to be linked to the Compliance record too (such as a trustee).

Here's what I'd like to accomplish:

  • I need to show the Contacts in an Account on the Compliance object and want to allow users to connect a Contact outside of that household.
  • I need to show the Insider entries that each Contact attached to the Compliance record have.

Can I do this without code?

@Ken CowanI haven't. I'm familiar with what it does, but that's about it. It's on my (long) list of things to try out in my sandbox. Can you give me a feel for how this might help in this instance? I ask because I have a similar project right behind this one.

In the spirit of #NoCodeNovember, I wrote a blog post on how to create native related lists that display filtered records. No visualforce or apex needed! Just some lookup fields and a dash of Process Builder.

Hi there,

for efficiency reasons I would like to create a new contact, and link it with my case right from the case view of the Service Cloud Console. I tried to make it happen via the Custom Console Component and using a global create action. However, all that shows up is a lookup field. I need a button to create a new contact.

This release note here says this is possible via a quick action, but after following the instructions all I can see is a lookup filter.

Any ideas?

Thx

Johannes

    Johannes,

    Make sure you..

Create actions must be global quick actions.

Update actions must be object-specific quick actions that are based on the lookup field object type.

For example, to update a contact lookup field, you must have a contact-specific update action

Have you had a use case where you only want the user to create records s/he created and not all records in the object? Unlike with the edit record function, you can’t use validation rules to prevent record deletion. All roads seemed to lead to solving this via a trigger. Being an Awesome Admin, I wasn’t satisfied with that answer and was determined to find a way to solve for this declaratively.

In support of #NoCodeNovember, for the entire month of November, I joined a success community group (@No Code November) dedicated to finding creative ways to deliver features to customers without one line of code. [Read the post on Button Click Admin 5 Reasons to Go #NoCodeNovember to learn more about the group’s genesis.]

I was so excited when I solved the following use case using clicks instead of code and wanted to share this with the community in my latest blog article. This works in both Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience.

Hope you are able to find ways to use this for your own use cases as this can be applied to any object, standard or custom.

Thanks,

Jen
