Hi Trailblazers! I just wrapped up the Setup with Agentforce Quest

Trailmix and am looking at how to push its capabilities further.

Has anyone started experimenting with using Setup with Agentforce alongside complex Flow or OmniStudio

implementations to automate day-to-day administrative tasks?

I would love to hear about any advanced, real-world use cases, governance strategies, or enterprise implementation best practices you've uncovered so far! #AwesomeAdmins

Setup with Agentforce isn't really a runtime automation engine that you chain together with Flow or OmniStudio. It's an admin productivity assistant that lives inside the Setup experience. It helps you build and troubleshoot the org through natural language rather than executing business process at runtime. It handles things like managing users, troubleshooting user access, managing permission sets and sharing rules, creating custom objects and fields, creating and managing flows, and navigating you to the right Setup page. So the mental model is "an agent that helps the admin configure faster," not "an agent that sits in your automation stack alongside Flow and OmniStudio at runtime." Those are two different layers, and that distinction matters for how you'd actually use it day to day.

That said, there's a real and useful relationship between the three, just not the one the question implies. Setup with Agentforce can create and manage flows, create and explain formulas, and build Lightning pages, so it accelerates the authoring of the very automation you then run. The practical pattern I'd suggest is using it as your build accelerator: have it scaffold a Flow, explain an existing complex formula you inherited, or troubleshoot why a user can't access a record (that access troubleshooting use case is genuinely the standout one, it replaces a lot of manual SOQL and permission digging). Then your heavy lifting business logic still lives in Flow and OmniStudio where it belongs. The Salesforce team has also said they're building toward multi-step orchestration, so you could create an object, manage access to it, and add it to dynamic forms in one conversation, but that's still maturing.

On the governance and enterprise side, which is where your real question is, a few things worth knowing. First, the agent only takes action when you approve it and only for tasks you already have permissions to do, and every change it makes is captured in the Setup Audit Trail. That Audit Trail point is your single most important governance lever, because it means agent-made changes are traceable exactly like manual ones. Second, on access control, users need the Use Setup with Agentforce and Execute Prompt Template permissions, plus Data Cloud User permission and access to the default data space, so you can scope who gets it through permission sets rather than opening it to every admin. Third, on the cost concern that always comes up: as of GA, Setup actions are non-billable and don't consume credits, which removes the unpredictability worry that came up repeatedly at TDX.

For an enterprise rollout I'd treat it like any other powerful admin capability: pilot it in a sandbox first (it works in production, sandbox, and dev orgs), grant the permission set to a small group of senior admins, lean on the Setup Audit Trail for change review, and keep your actual automation governance (naming conventions, subflow patterns, OmniStudio reusability standards) exactly as it is, because Setup with Agentforce doesn't change any of that, it just speeds up how you author it.

Curious what use cases you're most interested in. If it's the user access troubleshooting one specifically, that's the area where I've seen the most immediate payoff and I'm happy to go deeper on how to roll that out to a tier one support team safely.
