I was wondering if it's possible to use related record currency field to override a currency field on a different object record in flow. I have an after update flow that is supposed to look at a related record currency fields from a specific year and month an update the related month currency field on a different object record. currently, when I run the formula it's not operating as expected but not giving any error.

The relationship between program financial object and program financial statement objects is look up

IF(

Text({!$Record.Program_Financial_Statement__r.Month__c})= 'Sep' &&{!$Record.Program_Financial_Statement__r.Program_Financial__c} = {!$Record.Id} && Not(ISBlank({!$Record.Program_Financial_Statement__r.TTL_Rev_CSG__c})),{!$Record.Program_Financial_Statement__r.TTL_Rev_CSG__c},

{!$Record.CSG_Sept__c})

Its defaulting to the else

Currently have 96 of these formulas listed in the flow

there is a historic record that list out monthly currency fields for different business units. A new child object with its own child object that creates monthly records with detail currency information related to the top level object business units. the goal is if the monthly children records have revenue and expense fields that aren't blank for each business unit then those totals should override the monthly fields on the top level object record.

  • Opportunity ( one record that receives roll up information from only program financial fiscal statements) master detail with program financial
    • program financial (historic child of opportunity) ( one record created that represents 1 years worth of financial data) master detail with program financial fiscal statements
      • program financial fiscal statement (New child of program financial) ( One record created with rollup fields from the 12 child records) master detail with program financial statements
        • program financial statements (New child of program financial fiscal statement) ( 12 records created from fiscal month 1 to fiscal month 12)

Am I trying to make Salesforce do something that it can't in my current process method?

    And I'm therefore pointing out that it makes no sense, and explains entirely why your formula isn't working. Remember, a lookup field only points to one specific record.

    You'll want to use a Get Records step to fetch a specific financial statement for the month of September, where the program financial is equal to $RecordId, and the TTL_Rev_CSG field is not empty.
